Cost savings thanks to an “all-in-one” sensor

This new thermal compressed air meter is truly versatile for industrial compressed air. It is not only equipped with an integrated temperature sensor, but also with a pressure sensor. The user now has the possibility to read four process values at a time (speed, pressure, temperature, totalizer = totalizer counter) and thus optimize his production.

Compressed air surveillance at a glance

The integration of the SD compressed air meter, during the maintenance of existing installations or in new units, brings additional advantages. From now on, the process values of compressed air used in the industry can be effectively monitored in compressed air networks via the integrated TFT display. Four different graphic presentations, individually configurable, are available. Process values can also be transmitted via IO-Link.

Increasing energy efficiency through integrated leak monitoring in the facility

Thanks to the precise monitoring of the flow by the SD flow meter, leaks can be detected, which saves energy. In addition, the high repeatability of the device makes it possible to accurately charge the costs of compressed air to the production chain and to optimize product cost calculations.

Effective service pressure surveillance

The integrated pressure measurement makes it possible to optimally monitor the pressure drop on dirty filtration installations as well as the general operating pressure of the compressed air circuit. These data are very important, if the installation includes actuators that operate at 5 bar instead of the optimal 6.3 bar, the movement speed of these will be reduced by 25%, resulting in decreased productivity. Excessive service pressure also does not generate performance gain, but rather increased compressed air consumption and greater wear of the installation.

The basis for a complete energy management system according to DIN EN ISO 50001

According to the European Energy Efficiency Directive DIN EN ISO 50001, all Member States have committed to achieving energy savings. A prerequisite for obtaining energy tax reductions is the implementation of an energy management system. The standard requires the recording of calibrations of measuring instruments to ensure the accuracy and repeatability of the measured data. The use of the new SD compressed air meter with regular DAkkS calibrations is the optimal basis for a reliable energy management system.

Reduction of equipment purchase, installation and maintenance costs

The integration of several measurement parameters into a single sensor not only saves considerable costs in terms of equipment (pressure sensor, temperature sensor, wiring, input cards), but also installation and maintenance costs.
